Winterfest 2009:
'Jazz on the vine returns'
Building on the outstanding success of last winter's “Jazz on the Vine” theme, Long Island Winterfest has been extended to six weekends. From Feb. 14 through March 22, East End wineries will offer free live jazz on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. This year restaurants are invited to offer jazz brunches, lunches and dinners featuring Long Island wines during the six weeks of the festival. Local jazz musicians, hotels and other businesses and attractions are also invited to participate.
Winterfest 2009 is being organized by L.I. Wine Council, East End Arts Council, Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Workforce Housing and L.I. Convention and Visitors Bureau with support from American Express and WLIU Radio. North Fork Promotion Council and Hamptons Visitors Bureau are coordinating business participation. For more information, see liwinterfest.com; businesses can sign up there. Restaurant owners, e-mail info@liwines.com.
